The Examined Life
The discovery of my neurodivergence has been a blessing in disguise, for, together with other crises, it forced me to examine my life. I know for a fact that some people won’t accept that neurodivergence is a blessing at all. These folks sometimes wish that they would be able to do away with their own…

They sell customer data to third parties, and my ex-wife and I had terrible experiences with them. I cannot recommend BetterHelp to anyone. National Days And Awareness Months Hurt My Mental Health
There’s a cost to your push for awareness, and it is my mental health. Let’s start with the messages about National Pizza Day or National Ice Cream Day. Aphorisms of Love: An Early Disappointment Is Better Than A Late One
It is better to discover incompatibilities early, rather than late. Ideally, we wouldn’t discover any incompatibilities. The USA Is Great At Stunt Medicine, Crap At Caring: Living Proof
I’m the living proof that the USA is great at stunt medicine, but absolute and utter crap at caring. This article was rescued from another publication. It was minimally edited for publication here. Does Laziness Exist?
I used to say “yes,” but I’m now willing to say that, in a lot of cases, it does not. I’m not yet ready to declare that laziness does not exist. However, a case can be made for the position that the word is being used in cases where there is in fact no laziness.…

Famotidine Was Making Me Depressed And Caused Fatigue
More reflections on my experience with famotidine. Preamble: I wrote this piece in August 2022, about six days after my previous piece on famotidine. I decided to do minimal edits before publishing it here. In particular, I did not adjust the chronology. I did not know I was autistic at the time. However, I’m now…
