Your Autistic Life: The Ruminations of an Autistic Enby
This is my blog. I masked my autism for the first 50 years of my life. I discovered in March 2023 that I am, in fact, autistic. Prior to this time, my life was mostly okay, but did not make much sense overall. Since my self-diagnosis, my life makes much more sense.

You Don’t Understand Free Speech
I know my title is provocative. It is intentional. The law is one of my interests. At the same time, I’m not a lawyer. I’m merely better informed than the average American. Let me be clear that I’m going to talk about the right of free speech embodied in the Bill of Rights of the…

Invisible Minorities Are Vocal About Their Identities With Good Reason
It is because the majority tends to forget that these invisible minorities exist. I recently came across a “bash the vegan” joke that got me thinking about the issue at hand here. I’m paraphrasing, but the joke was: The toughest part of being a vegan is keeping it to yourself. I think there are several…

On The Importance Of Teaching Neurodivergence
In my view, it would allow us to handle better the friction that occurs when meshing different communication styles. As I was writing about the sources of friction between my ex-wife and I, it occurred to me that knowing about neurodivergence would have been extremely useful to us. It is unclear whether it would have…

I’m Skeptical About Electric Composters
I’ve been seeing ads for them, but I’m not convinced that they are advantageous for anyone. I’ve been watching a lot of YouTube videos lately. A lot of those videos are sponsored. I’m not a fan of sponsorships, but you have to make ends meet somehow. Some sponsors are outfits that I would never ever…

A Small Reorganization
I’m splitting my YouTube channels, and I’m no longer announcing my activity to those channels here. I used to post here whenever I made a new clip in @YourAutisticLife. Going forward, I’m no longer doing this. I will probably delete the old posts at some point. I’ve also split off the music playlists that were…

Star Wars: The Destruction Of A Franchise
I guess this article won’t be heavily about my autism. Except maybe that I do display my autism insofar as I’m blunt in my assessment of what happened to Star Wars with the latest trilogy of movies. For the benefit of historians, I’m talking about The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of…

Johns Hopkins’ Billing: Death By A Thousand Cuts
Johns Hopkins’ billing department is, again, billing me for bogus charges. I’ve complained about this multiple times. Nothing is happening! This article was originally published elsewhere in November 2022. I’m republishing because it serves as a good example of my slogan, AHABe. I’ve done minimal editing. Here I am, complaining, again, about Johns Hopkins. This…

Autistic Joy: How I Did NOT Celebrate Valentine’s Day With My Boyfriend
We are on the same page, he and I, Valentine’s Day is not something to celebrate. I’ve always had a difficult relationship with Valentine’s Day. I went through the motions, for the benefit of my ex-wife. It was very important for her to mark the day, somehow. As far as I see it, Valentine’s Day…

When Shitbags Fake Disability
This story is such a clusterfuck of deceit and incompetence that you should be as mad as I am! Tie your hat! This is going to be a really rough ride. It is not every day that watching a cooking video on YouTube sends me ballistic. Yet, here we are. I’m bloody mad, and so…

Willow
A daddy’s girl Buddhist funeral. A lynx-point female Siamese catWillow was her assigned nameTruly, she was a daddy’s girlShe never learned claw controlWhen this girl showed her loveShe’d put her paw on your armAnd immediately drew bloodStill, I let her do it. No fuss from meBecause she was my sweet girl When I went to…

A Panic Attack May Not Be What You Think
I’m going to explain to you what a panic attack is. It does not just mean experiencing a great fear or being terrified irrespective of circumstances. I’ve experienced two bouts of panic attacks in my life. I had to take Xanax to counter the attacks until time worked its magic, and the attacks ceased. A…

Stimming Is Life 015
Yes music! In need to talk about the Route 66 song. Unfortunately, the electroswing mix that I picked does not exist on Spotify. I had to replace it with Nat King Cole’s version, which I love. This song is a good illustration of the fact that I think ads can be cute, even if I…

Stimming Is Life 14
More music to stim to. Things of note… I believe this is a first in our series. The songwriter of Your Woman, Jyoti Mishra (@Jyoti) is in the fediverse! Do say hi, especially if you like the song! Danger Mouse is very present in this playlist. He’s a member Gnarls Barkley and Broken Bells. No,…

Stimming Is Life’s 80’s 001
I know I’ve had a few oldies in my playlists previously, but this is the first time I have an entire playlist of oldies. I asked YouTube for Lube, and then it figured that I just wanted to listen to oldies. I just rolled with it.
