  • Next Time You Enjoy Free Speech, Thank A Comedian

Comedians are always at the mercy of people who want to shut them up just because they don’t like them. Let me start by saying that I’m so, so sorry that I’m US-based and that what I am going to talk about might not hold water in whatever corner of the world you live in.…

  • How Are Autistic People Supposed To Make A Living?

I explain at least part of the “making a living” problem from the point of view of an autistic person. Tie your hat. This is a long post. Now, keep in mind the proverb: When you’ve met one autistic person, you’ve met one autistic person. I don’t claim here to talk for every single autistic…

  • Adversity Does Not Make You Stronger

The reality of it is much more complex than what the saying would have you believe. Adversity has visited me often. So much so, that by all rights, if the saying were true, I’d be Superman by now. Alas, I’m no Superman. Adversity nearly killed me. Adversity has had a beneficial effect on me, but…

  • The Distinction Between Migrant And Expat May Not Be The One You Think

The wrong definition will mark you as someone fighting the wrong battle. If you insist that by definition expat means white skin, while migrant means person of color, what you are engaging in is performative social justice and virtue signaling. “Look at how virtuous I am!” What you are doing actually helps no one. Moreover,…

  • Asking People To Verify Their Identity On The Dating Apps Does Not Work!

  • Does Laziness Exist?

I used to say “yes,” but I’m now willing to say that, in a lot of cases, it does not. I’m not yet ready to declare that laziness does not exist. However, a case can be made for the position that the word is being used in cases where there is in fact no laziness.…

  • Famotidine Was Making Me Depressed And Caused Fatigue

More reflections on my experience with famotidine. Preamble: I wrote this piece in August 2022, about six days after my previous piece on famotidine. I decided to do minimal edits before publishing it here. In particular, I did not adjust the chronology. I did not know I was autistic at the time. However, I’m now…

  • Neurodivergence And Spirituality

Is it possible that neurodivergent people experience spirituality differently than neurotypical folks? The answer is obvious. Yes, we experience spirituality differently than neurotypical folks. Why should spirituality be any different from the other realms of existence? I’ll remind you that I used to think that we perceive the world in more or less the same…

  • Feeld’s Moderation Wasn’t Great, But It Is Now Nonexistent

Feeld’s moderation was never great, but it is now nonexistent. I’ll explain how I came to this conclusion in this article. It really hurts me to say this, because I think that Feeld is the best platform for people who are part of the gender and sexual minorities (GSM). I am part of several of…

  • On Silver Linings And Cancer

It may take some time before you see the silver linings. Is cancer able to provide someone with silver linings? Yes, it is able to do just that. Yes music! In need to talk about the Route 66 song. Unfortunately, the electroswing mix that I picked does not exist on Spotify. I had to replace it with Nat King Cole’s version, which I love. This song is a good illustration of the fact that I think ads can be cute, even if I…
